Soooo Sooo Sooo Sooo Sooo Soakedddd

Meet some of the fearless group...

We went backpacking last week.  We also went backpacking with a fair chance of storms starting at 8 pm that night and lasting until Sunday morning (we went on a Thursday).  So we started out in sun with some ominous.  15 minutes into the hike (not 8 pm more like 4 pm), it started down pouring.  We of course did not have any trashbags on the backpacks to keep everything dry.  By the time all the girls bags were covered, I was soaking wet.  The girls were wet.  Our stuff was semi wet at the time.  I made a really cool packing list for the girls.  It has Pocahontas on it.  It tells them to pack extra clothes.  I of course never follow the list, so I just had wet clothes.  We get to the campsite, and the rain stops long enough for us to set up the tents, have dinner, have smores (Montgomery got an amazing fire going), and have a devotion.  By the time we crawled back into our tents, the sky opened up again.  The morning comes, clothes are still not dry.  One tent slept in a puddle all night long.  They were soaking wet, their stuff was soaking wet.  BUT, it was a great trip with great girls with great attitudes.

The girls came up with this song...

Doe a deer we saw a deer
Ray a drop of golden sun... NOT
Me there is a me in team
Far a long long way to hike
Sooo sooo sooo sooo sooo soakedddd
La la la la la la long
Te te te in the woods
And that'll bring us back to doe doe doe doe
